Description
The dome is the workhorse shape of pendant lighting — a wide, shallow bowl that catches the bulb’s output and throws it down onto the surface below. That makes it the right pendant for dining tables, kitchen islands and desks, where you want the table lit and the room left atmospheric. This version is spun steel with a matte finish that stays matte (some finishes develop hotspots; this one is tested not to). Two sizes cover the two real cases: 30 cm for tables seating two to four, 40 cm for six-seaters and islands. The shade is open at the top, so a little light escapes upward for a soft ceiling wash, and the interior is painted white to keep the downward light even rather than shadowed. It hangs from a fabric cord with a steel canopy, and the bulb sits recessed so you never see it directly from across the table.
Use cases
- Dining tables and kitchen islands — the shape’s home turf.
- Home-office desks where the ceiling light is too far away.
- Two or three in a row over a long counter.
- Anywhere the current ceiling light is bright but nothing is actually lit.

FAQs
Which size for a six-seater table?
40 cm, hung 75–85 cm above the tabletop.
Does it glare when you look up?
The bulb sits recessed inside the shade; from normal seated angles you see shade, not bulb.
Can it be mounted on a sloped ceiling?
The canopy tolerates up to 15°; steeper slopes need an angled adapter (not included).
