Availability & stockOut-of-stock pages stay online
Stock states
- In stock: shown normally, schema matches.
- Out of stock: page stays live and indexed with a visible notice; structured data matches the notice (see the Rattan Table Lamp for a live example).
- Backorder (assumed): visible notice and structured data match.
Why keep the pageHiding pages during stock gaps destabilises search engines and breaks bookmarks. Keep the page, state the real status, and let the product return without losing its place.
DiscontinuedPermanent removals 301-redirect to the closest replacement or category, or return a gone status and leave the sitemap. No live discontinued states exist today.
