Description
This lamp is one material doing the whole job: a woven rattan body with a matching woven shade, so the light comes through a lattice and lands as a soft, patterned glow on the wall behind it. That makes it the most decorative lamp in the collection and the least precise — the weave scatters light in every direction, which is exactly right on a console, a shelf or a bedside table where the goal is atmosphere rather than a reading beam. The frame underneath is steel, so it is sturdier than it looks; the base is felted; and the cord is fabric-wrapped in a warm tone that does not fight the rattan. The honest trade-offs are on the label: rattan is a dry-room material, the shade cannot be washed (dust it), and each lamp’s weave carries small irregularities that a moulded shade never would.
